Brief Description

The only Boston qualifier event in Southern Indiana, this third year event is located in the beautiful rolling hills of Southern Indiana and offers one of the largest marathon-accompanying festivals in the entire U.S., with proceeds benefiting Rolling Thunder, Inc. (a military appreciation organization).

Age Requirement

  • 18 and above for the full marathon
  • 15 and above for the half marathon
  • No age minimum for the 8k

    • Registration Notes

  • There will be no refunds or transfers (except for those who purchase the injury and illness insurance for the full and/or half marathon- please see details under the Registration Details page at www.SICmarathon.com
  • State issued i.d. required at packet pick up.
  • Military i.d. required to receive military discounts.

    • Upgrades

  • Upgrade your registraton to a Full or 1/2 Marathon from a 1/2 Marathon or 8k mail the payment with an explanation note to: SIC Marathon, LLC P.O. Box 16128, Evansville, IN 47716
  • Half to Full registration upgrade (must be post-marked by April 7) : $15, no matter how early or late you registered
  • 8k to Half Marathon registration upgrade: $35 until December 31 / $45, March 3 - April 7

    • Injury and illness insurance

    Injury and illness insurance is available for purchase during the full or half marathon registration process for $7.50. This insurance allows the participant to receive a full refund of the registration fee, should an injury or illness occur near race weekend that will not allow event participation.     Time Limits

  • Full Marathon - 15 minute per mile time limit (plus 10 minute grace period to cross the finish line)
  • Half Marathon - 17 minute per mile time limit (plus 10 minute grace period to cross the finish line)
  • 8k - 30 minute per mile time limit (plus 10 minute grace period to cross the finish line)

    This blast of an event starts and finishes at the Vanderburgh County 4-H Grounds, taking participants on a course that winds through beautiful northern Vanderburgh County during the mild Southwestern Indiana spring weather.

    The full and half marathon courses have rolling hills, mostly at the beginning, with more down hills in the second half of the course. Your friends and family will cheer you on at the six fan stations that line the course and then upon your finish, you all can enjoy the party in the park, with food and entertainment for the entire community all the way until the award ceremony. This is an event you don't want to miss!

    SIC SLAM (family festival and bierstube) Tickets
