Brief Description

Gather up the family for this exciting new event! Folks of all ages are encouraged to run or walk the 1 mile or 2 mile course in beautiful Kit Carson Park. Improve your health and support Escondido's youth along the way. Proceeds will support health and safety programs for youth through Escondido Recreation and the Escondido Education Foundation. After the run/walk, visit the FREE Health and Safety Expo with local exhibitors and vendors.

The Course

Both the 1 mile and 2 miles course begin at the south end of Kit Carson Park in the Adult Softball Complex and finish just past Sand Lake at the park road. The course is on both paved and unpaved trails that may have rough areas. Strollers and baby joggers are okay but no bicycles.

Schedule

Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. on the 23rd at Kit Carson Park, Adult Softball Field Complex. The 2 Mile Run/Walk begins at 8:30 a.m. and the 1 Mile Run/Walk begins at 8:45 a.m. The FREE Health and Safety Expo will be open from 8:30-11:00 a.m.

Fees

Preregister by 10/21/10 to get discounted fees: $15, Youth ( 5-13 yrs); $15 teen (14-17 yrs.); $20, adult (18 & up); $60, family (4 people) Fee includes t-shirt & goodie bag. Youth 5-13 yrs. also receive a medal. Children under 4 years are free; however, they will not receive a T-shirt or goodie bag. Day of registration will be available on October 23, beginning at 7:30 a.m.: $20, Youth ( 5-13 yrs); $20 teen (14-17 yrs.); $25, adult (18 & up); $80, family (4 people)

Event Activities

Free Expo will feature local vendor/exhibitor booths, entertainment, food, FREE raffle with lots of great prize giveaways, and activities for children, including inflatable slides and air jumps, arts 'n crafts, Safari Park animal presentation, and more.
