Age Requirement & Health

The minimum age requirement varies for each event within the RXR Long Island Marathon: Festival of Races. All participants must be capable of competing in and healthy-enough to participate in long distance running events.

Additional Details

Events taking place as part of the Long Island Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K will be sanctioned and certified by USA Track and Field (USATF). All USATF Rules will apply.

Marathon - Half Marathon - 10K Race Routes

The 2009 Marathon & 1/2 Marathon take participants past landmarks like the Nassau Coliseum & Museum Row before heading north through the Village of Westbury, onto the Wantagh Pkwy to finish inside Eisenhower Park. The 10K will start along with the other races, taking a detour at about 4.5 miles, ending in the same location.

5K Race and 1 Mile Run Routes

The 5K Race will take place on Saturday & traverse a separate course, starting by the Cradle of Aviation & ending on the track at Mitchel Field. 1 Mile Run Participants will start alongside 5K participants & finish on the same finish line after splitting from the rest of the pack early on in the race.

PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION BELOW. THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE VERY IMPORTANT!!!

Participants CAN NOT Switch Races on Race Day

Participants of the 2009 Long Island Marathon, half Marathon, or 10K race can not switch races on race day. Each race will use different colored numbers; signage and course officials will direct participants to their proper split points.

Racewalkers

Competitive racewalkers are permitted in the Half Marathon and awards will be distributed to the winners, accordingly.

Awards

For both the Full & Hall Marathon: Top 10 Males & Females Overall Top 3 Wheelchairs Top 3 Males & Females in the following age groups: 16-19/20-24/25-29/30-34/35-39/40-44/45-49/50-54/ 55-59/60-64/65-69/70-74/75-79/80+

Timing & Results

Timing will be done via electronic timing system.

REFUNDS / TRANSFERS

The RXR Long Island Marthon: Festival of Races does not offer refunds and event registration is non-transferrable.
