Brief Description

The Midnight Run (10 K) starts at 12:15 a.m., Saturday, July 4th. Timing ends at 1:30 a.m. This run enters Honeymoon Island State Park 2.5 miles from the start. The park gate closes at 1:00 a.m. This run is challenging and is NOT for walkers.

The 5 K Run starts at 11:25 p.m. on Friday, July 3rd. Timing ends at 12:10 a.m. on Saturday.

The One Mile Run/Walk starts at 11:00 p.m. on Friday, July 3rd. Timing ends at 11:20 p.m.

NEW THIS YEAR - CHIP TIMING

This year's 5K and 10K events will be using Ipico Sports Tag chip timing.
It is imperative that all participants in these two events pick up their chips prior to the start of each event.
Participants must have chips in order to be scored, so allow enough time to pick up both your race packets and timing chips.

Race Night Registration

Begins at 9:30 p.m. on Friday, July 3rd at the Causeway Plaza at the corner of Bayshore Blvd and Causeway Blvd, in front of the Florida Sheriff's Youth Ranch store.

Prize Drawings

Random drawing for prizes will be available for pre-registered runners only. Winners DO NOT have to be present to win.
Prizes include, but are not limited to, cash, golf outings, complimentary race registrations and gift certificates for local businesses and restaurants.

T-Shirts

2009 Commemorative Midnight Run t-shirts will be presented to all registered and present participants.
(No shows forfeit their shirts.)

Awards

Commemorative plaques will be awarded to:
Overall male and female winners in the 10K and 5K races.
Top five finishers in each age division (male and female).
Top five male and female finishers in the One Mile.

Plaques are awarded after each race.

Unclaimed Awards

Awards that are not picked up after the event will be available at the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce (301 Main St, Dunedin) between July 16th and 31st during normal business hours.
(Unclaimed plaques will be discarded after that).

Age Divisions

10 K Men: 13 & under, 14-15, 16-17, 18-19 and then 5 year groups starting at 20-24 through 70 & over
10 K Women: 13 & under, 14-16, 17-19 and then 5 year groups starting at 20-24 through 65 & over

5 K Men: 9 & under, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, 16-17, 18-19 and then 5 year groups starting at 20-24 through 70 & over
5 K Women: 9 & under, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, 16-17, 18-19 and then 5 year groups starting at 20-24 through 70 & over

The Rules

Only registered runners with the proper race bib will be timed in each race.
No dogs on the course.
Skates and Roller Blades are not allowed on the course.
Strollers are allowed to start behind all other runners.

Special registration is available. Please call 727-535-2257 by June 25, 2009, for information and special registration.

Beneficiary

The previous 29 Midnight Runs have raised over $500,000 for the Kiwanis Clubs of Dunedin and Countryside to continue their work with the youth, handicapped, elderly and needy in our community.
