Brief Description

Run Duluth's finest trails in the 2012 Duluth Trail Festival presented by Salomon.

Day 1:
Park Point Beach 5K & Chester Tester Hill Challenge 5K.

Day 2:
Superior Hiking Trail (SHT) 15K.

Race 1 - Saturday Aug 25

Park Point Beach 5K. Race day registration/pickup by beach house from 8-9:15. Race starts at 10:00 AM next to airport at the end of Park Point. Plan enough time in case you have to wait for the lift bridge. Awards for top 3 males and females not competing in the 3 race division immediately following race (Those doing all three races are scored and will receive overall division awards after Sunday’s race).

Race 2 - Saturday Aug 25

Chester Tester Hill Challenge 5K. Race day registration/pickup at the chalet from 4:00-5:00. Race starts at 5:30 at the chalet, circumnavigates the Chester Park trail system including going up the famous Quadrupeds Hill (on hands and feet!). This is one for the story books! Awards for top 3 males and females not competing in the 3 race division immediately following race (Those doing all three races are scored and will receive overall division awards after Sunday’s race).

Race 3 - Sunday Aug 26

Superior Hiking Trail (SHT) 15K . Race day registration/pickup at the Duluth zoo parking lot from 8:30-9:30. Race starts at 10:00 AM. From registration/pickup, athletes will be bused to the race start at the 123rd Ave road crossing (Ely's Peak lot). The SHT 15K is noted by past athletes as the most beautiful race in the Midwest. Awards for top 3 males and females not competing in the 3 race division and awards for those doing all three races after the race.

3 Race Package (Save by doing all 3!)

Individual Race Registration

Park Point Beach 5K (8/25)
•$18 through 8/7/12
•$23 after.

Chester Tester Hill Challenge 5K (8/25)
•$18 through 8/7/12
•$23 after.

Superior Hiking Trail 15K (8/26)
•$40 through 8/7/12
•$45 after

Awards for those doing all 3 races

For 3 race division: Overall male and female champs and the top 3 males and females in age groups 19 and under, 20-34, 35-49, 50+ based on points system: Everyone receives points in each race and those doing all 3 are tallied after the 3rd race with lowest score winning. Points are assigned to everyone based on 1st = 1 point and so on according to the overall results in each race. Example is if the top female finishes 8th overall in a race, 7th in another, and a 12th, she gets 27 points.

Awards for those NOT doing all 3 races

Top 3 OVERALL males and females not competing in the 3 race division after each race (No age group awards for individual races, so sign up for all 3!).
