Brief Description

The Inaugural AOL Spring into Summer 5k and Fun Run will be held on May 16, 2010 at AOL’s Dulles campus in commemoration of AOL’s 25th Anniversary. Proceeds from the event will go to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Loudoun County, whose programs and services promote and enhance children’s development by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence.

Fees

5K - Early online registration - $25 thru April 30th. $30 after April 30th. Race day registration - $35. Fun Run - $10 thru May 13th. Race day registration is $15.

Course Description

The race will follow a hilly out-and-back course that takes runners through the AOL campus in Dulles, VA. For an interactive course map go to the following link: Interactive AOL 5K Course Map

Packet Pick up/Registration

Pick up your technical t-shirt, bib and timing tag on Friday, May 14th from 12:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Race day May 16th from 7:00 a.m. - 8:15 a.m. Location: AOL Campus - Creative Center 2- 44900 Prentice Drive, Dulles, VA. Parking available on site or across the street from packet pickup. Online registration closes on May 13th at midnight. Fees increase on race day.

Prizes

The top 3 finishers by gender will be given cash awards of $100, $50 and $25.

Fun Run

The fun walk/run will begin at the 5K start line immediately after the 5K runners begin. All participants will receive a t-shirt at packet pick-up.

Timing

The race will be timed using the Ipico timing system. Tag placement directions will be available with your registration packet.

Results

Overall results will be posted following the race. Prizes will be awarded based on gun time. Online results will be available after 12 p.m. following the race. Results will be posted on Active.com and runwashington.com and www.potomariverrunning.com

Event Parking

On the day of the race, parking will be available across from packet pick-up at 44900 Prentice Drive.

Other Information

No strollers or dogs allowed on the course. One water stop will be located after mile marker 2 upon entrance to the AOL campus. There is not timed cutoff for this event. Take your time. Enjoy the race!

Additional Information

Directions: The AOL Campus is located near the Dulles Wegman's on the opposite side of Waxpool. Directions from Washington- (From 66 or 495 Beltway) Take 267 Dulles Toll Road West Take the Route 28 exit North toward Sterling. Follow Route 28 North for approximately 3 miles. Follow signs marked To Pacific Blvd South Take right hand exit marked 625 West (Waxpool Road to Pacific Blvd South) Once on Waxpool Road immediately get in the far left lane. After going under the overpass, veer into the left exit. (It is an access road) At the first traffic light go left onto Pacific Blvd. Go to the first stop sign and go right on to Prentice. Take the first right into Creative Center 2 (CC2).
