Brief Description

Run for her Life-Be a Hero for Hope 10K/5K Run/Walk Walk up registration available during packet pick up and at event beginning at 6:30am, Sunday. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, join us as we travel through the beautiful neighborhoods of Downers Grove. You can even show your character by coming dressed as your favorite superhero One Mile Competitive Run for ages 8-12 and Kids' Fun Run will be held on the high school track and will begin at 7:45am.

Short Sleeve tech t-shirt for ages 14+ to first 375 registrants. Awards, food and entertainment immediately following race

Schedule of Events

Packet pick up available at Runners Grove on Main Street in Downers Grove on Friday October 19th from 4pm to 7pm and Road Runner Sports on 75th St in Naperville on Saturday October 20 from 11am-2pm Walk up registration available during either packet pickup or on race day.

Parking is available adjacent to the registration and rally area in the bus parking lot on Saratoga. Access the bus lot from Saratoga.

Online registration closes at 12:01 AM on Friday October 19th. Walk up registration available during either packet pick up times. Registration also available on event day beginning at 6:30am at Downers Grove North High School.

Online registration closes midnight October 19th. Registration available during packet pick up hours at either location or on race day.

Additional Information

Course: • The 5K course is USATF Certified #IL-12176-JW. The 10K IL-12177-JW Awards: Rally and presentation of awards begin immediately after. Awards will be presented to: • Top overall male and female finishers • Top overall male and female finishers in age divisions Awards for Individual and Team Fundraising • Individual & Team Best Costume. Kid's Fun Run Race awards for overall best finishers and best costume. • Age groups for the 10K and 5K races are: Under 14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over. Prizes are awarded to the 1st male and female in each race. Medals to the top three finishers, male and female, in each age category of the two races. Race results will be available at www.racetime.info and www.cararuns.org Runners and walkers are welcomed to participate. One Mile Competitive Run for ages 8-12 and Kids' Fun Run will be held on the high school track and will begin at 7:45am. Amazon Kindle will be awarded to the person who raises the most funds in support of Family Shelter Service. The team with the highest per capita fundraising dollars will win a private party valued at $500 at Ballydoyle's in Downers Grove.
