Brief Description

The Downers Grove Park District presents its 31st annual run through the scenic residential streets of Downers Grove. The gently rolling, USATF certified five-mile course is well marked and monitored and includes four water stations. The first 600 registrants recieve a technical racing shirt. The race is part of 2010 CARA Runners' Choice Circuit. Chip timed race.

Directions

Lincoln Center is 1/2 block east of Main Street on Maple Ave. From I-88, exit Highland Ave. South, proceed to Maple Ave. From I-355, exit Ogden Ave. and turn east. Turn south on Main St., proceed to Maple Ave. From I-294, exit Ogden Ave West, follow to Main St. and turn south. From I-55, exit Lemont Rd. North, proceed to Maple Ave.

Parking

Available at the parking deck located in the middle of the block surrounded by Curtiss St., Maple Ave., Washington St., and Main St. Check the Village of Downers Grove website at www.vil.downers-grove.il.us for additional parking.

Course

Race starts and finishes at intersection of Randall and Washington Streets. USATF Course # IL-99005-JW. Splits are given at each mile. Water stations at 1 1/4, 2 1/2, 3 3/4, and 5 mile marks.

Awards

Top male and female finishers recieve plaques. Top three male and female finishers in each age group recieve medals. Top male and female Downers Grove resident finishers receive plaques. T-shirts for the first 600 registrants.

Additional Information

Runners will be grouped into one of the following age and gender categories: 14 & younger;15-19,20-24,25-29,30-34,35-39,40-44,45-49,50-54,55-59,60-64,65-69,70-74 and 80 years or better. This is a running event. For the safety of our runners, baby strollers, bicycles, skateboards, roller blades and dogs are strictly prohibited from the race. Race Packets for pre-registered runners will be available Friday, June 11 from 4:00-7:00 pm and Saturday, June 12 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm at Lincoln Center, 935 Maple Ave. Runners who wish to pick up their packet on Friday or Saturday must register by 4:00 pm on Wednesday, June 9. Runners interested in registering after 4:00 pm on Wednesday, June 9 must do so on raceday between 6:00 am and 7:00 am at Lincoln Center, 935 Maple Ave.
