Brief Description

Steve's Run will be held on the original Road 'n Trail course that starts and finishes in downtown Dowagiac. The race will be run in the memory of Steven Briegel and all funds that are raised will be donated to the Mayo Clinic Cancer Research and/or the Steven Briegel Scholarship Fund.

$17 - Online through Active.com plus a $3.25 Active fee(until July 28 noon); $22 - U.S. Mail (until July 28, 8 a.m.); $25 - Friday Night, July 29 (5-7:00 p.m.) at Historic Dowagiac Train Depot; $30 - Race Day (7 - 8:30 a.m.) at Historic Dowagiac Train Depot.

ONLINE DONATIONS

All funds that are raised, including 100 percent of the pledge money, will be donated equally (unless otherwise noted) to the Mayo Clinic Cancer Research and/or the Steven Briegel Scholarship Fund which assists outstanding students (3.0 or better). Online donations may be made during the registration process!

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This is a unique course that presents a lot of variety to the runner and walker, including a golf course, a wildlife refuge, forest trails, quiet country roads and even a cemetery. The more challenging 10K course winds through Southwestern Michigan College and the racers have the option of hurdling hay bales and an authentic Irish stone fence. An exciting finish is planned in the park with good and plentiful refreshments, great music and lots of "good times" for everyone.

RACE TIMES

The 10K run, the 5K run and the 5K walk all begin at 9:00am. The 1K fun run and walk will begin at 9:03am.

CANCER SURVIVORS

All cancer survivors who are participating in this year's race will receive a SPECIAL T-SHIRT and RACE NUMBER before the race. Also, all survivors will also be recognized at the awards ceremony. Please indicate survivor status on entry form and pick up your t-shirt and number at registration on Saturday morning between 7:00-8:30am. MUST BE PRE REGISTERED.

AWARDS

Attractive custom designed T-Shirts to all finishers in the 10K and 5K races and walks...distinctive custom stained glass awards to over 200 finishers in the 10K and 5K (including the walk) based on a participation formula...Special awards to open male, open female, master male, master female, age group winner, and special team winners (father/son, mother/daughter, etc).

TEAM COMPETITION

Competition in 10K, 5K and 5K walk will be held for teams in the following categories: Club, Corporate, Educators, Husband/Wife, Father/Son, Father/Daughter, Mother/Son and Mother/Daughter. Please write or visit website for team entry form.

TIMING & SCORING

Timing and scoring will be provided by Great Lakes ChampionChip, Inc.

PARENTAL CONSENT FOR KIDS
