Brief Description

The 2012 UNDERWEARNESS Drop Your Drawers and Run Wild event will be held on Friday evening on July 20 at City Park and the Denver Zoo. This family-friendly event will feature a 5K run/walk and private access to the Denver Zoo for post-race festivities. For those that don't wish to participate in the 5K, a zoo-only registration is available (see below for additional details). This is the 3rd Annual Drop Your Drawers event and we expect this year's event to be even better!

After Online Registration Closes

You still have two more opportunities to sign up! Advance registration: Wednesday, 7/18 and Thursday, 7/19 @ Sports Authority (370 S. Colorado Blvd. 80246) from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Cash or credit/debit cards only. OR Day of registration: Friday, 7/20 @ City Park from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Cash or credit/debit cards only.

Participant Perks - 5K Participants Only

(1) Bib and chip timer (race is professionally timed by Colorado Race Timing, LLC) - results will be posted on active.com and underwearness.org after the race; (2) EVOL Foods will be handing out mini burritos at the 5K finish line; (3) SA Elite will be giving away some limited swag (water bottles, chapsticks, towels) and also will do a a drawing for a heart monitor at the 5K finish line; (4) plus lots of other free goodies provided by our vendor booths!

Participant Perks - All Participants

(1) Zoo entry to this private event – including access to the newly opened Toyota Elephant Passage! (2) T-shirt with 2012 race design; (3) Goodie bag with various discount and offers, including $10 cash cards for SA Elite! (4) two drink tickets good for your choice of soda or beer in the zoo (must be over 21 and present ID for beer). *Please note the zoo does not allow outside food or drinks. Food will be available for sale within the zoo (cash only).

5K Entry Fees

Ages 13 and Up: $30 (until April 30th). $35 (until July 17th). $40 (Race Day). Ages 3 to 12: $20 (until April 30th). $25 (until July 17th). $30 (Race Day). Children 2 and Under: Free.

Zoo Only Entry Fees

Ages 13 and Up: $20 (until April 30th). $25 (until July 17th). $30 (Race Day). Ages 3 to 12: $15 (until April 30th). $20 (until July 17th). $25 (Race Day). Children 2 and Under: Free.

Family Discounts

Family of 4 Discount: $20 Off! Family of 5 Discount: $25 Off! For multiple registration discounts, please enter your first registration, then on the "Submit Payment" page, click "Register Someone Else," and proceed to register your next participant(s). The discount will be automatically deducted.

Donate for Prizes!

Each package of new children’s underwear you donate at the event makes you eligible to win great door prizes. All of the underwear donated on race day will go to The Salvation Army to help the fire victims and its "Dress a Child" back-to-school program. Winners will be announced in the zoo @ 8:00pm. Must be present to win and pick up your prize by 8:30pm.

5K Race Course

City Park’s Mile High Loop - follows a full 5k (3.1 mile) route and tracks along the city’s 5280 contour line- so you’re exercising at exactly a mile high!

Start Times/Locations

Race starts between the southeast side of the Zoo and the Museum of Natural History at 6:30pm. (see race map posted at underwearness.com). For the zoo only participants, the zoo doors will open at 6:30pm.

Event Parking

Free parking is available in the parking lots or garage adjacent to the Denver Zoo.

Wednesday, July 18th - Sports Authority Glendale located at 370 S Colorado Blvd Glendale, CO 80246 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Packet Pick Up - Option 2

Thursday, July 19th - Sports Authority Glendale located at 370 S Colorado Blvd Glendale, CO 80246 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Packet Pick Up - Option 3

Race Day, Friday, July 20th – City Park 5K starting point from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Please arrive early to avoid the rush!

Water Stations & Restrooms

Water stations will be available at the start/finish line and near mile markers 1 and 2. Porta potties will be available at the start/finish line.

5K Prizes

1st Place (female and male) - $25 Yardhouse gift card and $20 Sports Authority gift card; 2nd Place (female and male) - $20 Sports Authority gift card; 3rd Place (female and male) - $10 Sports Authority gift card. Winners will be determined by the official chip time, professionally timed by Colorado Race Timing, LLC, and announced in the zoo @ 8:00pm.

Volunteer Opportunities Available

If you would like to help at the Finish Line until your family members crosses or if you would like to volunteer for any part of the race -setup, race day, cleanup, etc, please email Leigh at info@underwearness.org.
