Brief Description

On Sunday, June 20th, 2010 the family of Deputy Chief Raymond M. Downey welcomes you to join them in their Ninth Annual Deputy Chief Ray Downey “Forever Running” Memorial 5k Run/Walk to keep the memory of Chief Downey and all the victims of September 11th alive.

Times

Kids Fun Run (1/4 Mile) – 9:30 a.m
5k Run (3.1 Mile) – 10:00 a.m.

Course

5k (3.1 miles) fast & flat run thru Deer Park. Passes down D.C. Raymond M. Downey Memorial Rd. USATF certified and sanctioned.

Late Registration

Late Registration will be from 8:00-9:30 a.m., June 20th. ABSOLUTELY NO CHECK-IN AFTER 9:30 A.M.

Plaques presented to the First Place overall 5K winners (male & female) , and to the Top 3 males & females in the following age groups: 9 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+, Wheel Chair, and all Special Olympians

• From Southern State Parkway: Exit 39N (Deer Park Ave., 231), Proceed North for 2 Mi. – Turn Right on Long Island Ave. – Go 2 Blocks to K of C Parking

• From LIE: Exit 51, Proceed South for 3 Mi. Turn Left on Long Island Avenue, Follow as above.
