Join us for the second annual “A Parcel for the Park”. It’s a 5K Run, a 5K Walk, and a ½ Mile Trot in the Jack Abernathy Davison Regional Park. Come out and support the “Callis Project” to help purchase “A Parcel for the Park”. The event proceeds will be used to help purchase the 40 acres of land adjacent to the Davison Regional Park.
Race is held in the Jack Abernathy Regional Park in Davison. The park is located on the north side of Hahn Intermediate School at 500 S. Dayton.
The Regional Park consists of 132 acres, some of which are heavily wooded. The park also includes a Playscape, Skate Park, cleared areas for picnics and sports enthusiasts, pavilions, volleyball, tennis and basketball courts, horseshoe pits, playground area, 18 station fitness trail, 4-field softball complex complete with concession stand, and miles of nature trails.
5k Course is flat and fast with fully paved roads and trails that wind through the Davison Regional Park and Collingwood Subdivision.
April 30th from 10 AM until 8 PM at Complete Runner, located at 915 S. Dort Hwy, Flint, Michigan. Race day registration begins at 7:30 AM at the Davison Middle School Gym, located at 600 S. Dayton St., Davison.
I-69 to M-15/Davison Exit #145, North approx. 1 mile to Lexington St. (South side of Central Elementary)Turn left and proceed one block to Dayton St. Turn right. Abundant parking is available at Central Elementary, Hahn Intermediate, and Davison Middle School. Parking in the Regional Park will be prohibited from 7:30-11:00 am on Race Day.
The race will be timed using the ChronoTrack Timing System, featuring the disposable D-tag. No need to stop at the finish line and return your timing chip! Overall 1st Male and Female, Masters 1st Male and Female 40+, First three Males and Females in age groups 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+.
Overall 1st Male and Female, Senior Masters 1st Male and Female 60+, First three Males and Females in age groups 19 and under, 20-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+.
The Children's Trot is a 1/2 mile fun run for ages twelve and under. The event is untimed, but there will be a display clock available at the finish line for participants to see their time. The trot will be run entirely within the park.
Students 18 & under can enter the 5K for only $10. Price includes a shirt.
Fruit and water will be provided at the finish line. Water will be provided at two locations on the course.
Free childcare will be provided in the Park Playscape while parents are participating in the race.
