Brief Description

YOU CAN REGISTER BY MAIL FOR SAME FEE IF POSTMARKED BY 1/7/12 AND AFTER THAT FOR $5 MORE. THERE IS ALSO RACE DAY REGISTRATION TOO! WE JUST HAD TO CUT OFF ONLINE EARLY. SORRY. WE NEEDED THE MONEY FOR T-SHIRTS. Registration & Packet Pickup: 1st Baptist Church of Danville located at 1009 Main Street, Danville 72833. Follow the Race Signs or Google a map! Registration starts at 8am closes at 9:45 am. Both 5k/10k races start promptly at 10am.

After online registration closes on 12/31, you can still register by contacting the race director for a mail-in form or register RACE DAY but shirt size not guaranteed. Additional Information

NEW! 5k/10k runners will travel same course but 5k runners/walkers will have an earlier turn-around. The 5k course will be new but the 10k course is the same as last year except the turn-around cone will be in the correct location. Kids 1 mile fun run is on a track and will be after the 5k/10k so parents can watch. Our race is fairly small and looking at past results, we do not see a conflict with slower 5k runners or walkers interfering with the fastest 10k finishers. Last year’s results are online at arkansasrunner.com. Awards will be Star Wars Themed Awards and t-shirts will be Star Wars as well. A spaghetti dinner will be available before the awards ceremony. Proceeds will help pay for either Share the Road Signs (City Permitting) or Fire Trail Cleanup in Danville. Fee includes t-shirt, packet, spaghetti lunch after the race and your chance of earning a unique Star Wars Authentic Souvenir Award, a medal, Kid’s Star Wars Themed Finisher Ribbon or a STAR WARS THEMED TROPHY! Awards are as follows: 1. Overall Male/ Female in 10k/5k are 1st Yoda Trophy, 2nd Darth Vader Trophy, 3rd Stormtrooper 2. Masters (40 yrs+) Male/ Female in 10k/5k 1st Yoda, 2nd Darth Vader, 3rd Stormtrooper 3. Overall Male/ Female Walker in 5k will be 1st Place Medal (walking division is non-competitive) 4. Age Division/Athena/Clydesdale Awards in 10k/5k (3 deep) 1st, 2nd, 3rd place will get a unique Star Wars Themed Award based on an Original Vintage 1977+ Star Wars Collector’s Card Athena competes against Athena and Clydesdale against Clydesdale. NO duplication of awards. Age groups are as follows: 12-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-60, 60+ 5. Rookie of the Year Trophy Award: Given to the male or female runner who meets all the following: *Must register for 5k or 10k Race *Not a student *A member of a Running Club in 2011 for 1 full year but not more than 2 full years *Award based on improvement throughout the year (tie breaker consideration given to those who have completed longer or more difficult races, quantity of races completed, personal record improvement within the year. Please include where we can verify your data and send us this information on the back of your form or in a separate email to the race director. 6. Best Costume Award Adult Male/Female and Child Male/Female (all must be registered!) 1st Place only….must be easily identifiable Star Wars Character. This year’s race focuses on the Star Wars: Return of the Jedi Movie. Costume can be worn during the race or after the race at the awards ceremony. You don’t have to register in advance, just show up in costume or be prepared to wear it during the awards.
