Brief Description

Get out of the sack sleepy head. This is the first day of a new year. Sure, you have a headache from last nights party. Take 3 Aspirin, Tylenol, Motrin IB or any of your favorite pain killers and you will feel great in 30 minutes. Its time to run again!

Step outside to see what a beautiful day it is. Go back in, brush your teeth, and put on whatever running gear it takes to break the chill. Start a new running streak for the New Year. It won't take long to get to Flagpole Hill because there won't be any traffic except for the other runners.

New Years 5 Mile Course

The New Year's 5 Mile run starts near the Park office at the bottom of Flagpole Hill at Northwest Highway just west of Buckner Blvd. This scenic course runs north on Goforth, left on West Lawther and right onto the jogging trail up to a turn around point at Fair Oaks. Head on back the way you came until you cross the finish line.

T-shirts

Long sleeved 100% cotton. all who register or pick up packets at Run On, will be guaranteed tshirts. Race day entrants will receive tshirts as long as they last. So be early on race day!!

Refreshments

Gatorade, Coca Cola, variety of fresh fruits, & other refreshments will be served after the event.

Awards

1st overall male & female, 1st masters male & female.
Top 3 in age groups 12 & under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & over.
Top 5 in age groups 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64
Top 3 female Clydesdale (over 150 lbs)
Top 5 male Clydesdale (over 200-214 lbs)
Top 3 male Rhino (215-239 lbs)
Top 3 male Hippo (240+)
Clydesdale, Rhino, & Hippo are not eligible for age group awards.

Award Cont

Don't hurry home. The awards ceremonies will start promptly when the last finisher is in.

You must be at the awards ceremony to received your award. Awards will not be presented after race day.

Results

Trophy winners results will be faxed to Dallas Morning News, Fort Worth Star Telegram, & Running Triathlete News.
