Brief Description

Come participate and enjoy the Eleventh Annual Prince of Wales Island International Marathon. The 26.2 mile certified course is designed to challenge the veteran and enlighten the novice. The course winds through forests, spectacular mountain passes, along Klawock Lake, over rivers and streams, along the shores of the inside passage and then on to the finish line in Craig. This is one of Alaska's showcase Marathon events!

Packet Pick-up and Late Registration

Race packets and late registration will be available at the Craig Community Association (CCA) building in Craig on Friday (the day before the event) from 12:00 noon - 5:00 pm. The CCA building is located at 1330 Craig/Klawock Highway and is Race Headquarters for the Event. PRE-REGISTRATION IS RECOMMENDED!

Pre-Race Events

A pasta feed / dinner (for a small fee) and participant orientation will be available at 5:30 pm the night before the event in the CCA building. Our Guest speaker will have a presentation including Q & A's following the pasta feed.

Arriving on Race Day

Packets, brief orientation and transportation to the Starting Line (Near Hollis Ferry Terminal) will be available at the CCA building from 7:00am - 7:30am on the morning of the event.

Additional Information

Aid stations, with water, will be provided every mile and a half along the course. If you don't feel like going the distance in this event, gather your friends and family and come join the fun! We have a 2-Person category, a 4-person category, and an 8-person category. All participants are guaranteed to receive your requested T-Shirt size if your registration has been received by April 30, 2009. Register by April 30TH to avoid a $15.00 Late Registration Fee & get the shirt size you want! An Alaska Airlines Round-trip Ticket and many other great prizes will be awarded to participants during the post-race ceremony at 5:30pm in the CCA building! Early starters WILL NOT receive an"OFFICIAL TIME", you must keep your own time. Official start time is 9:00am!
