3/25/11 UPDATE

Online registration is CLOSED. Registration will occur at packet pickup today and on race day on Saturday. Kids 1K registration closes at 7:30 a.m. and 5K and 3K Family Walk registration closes at 7:45 a.m.

ENTRY FEES

The 5K is $25, the 3K Family Walk is $20 and the Kids 1K is $15. Please register online to avoid delays on race morning.

RACE ENTRY

Includes a t-shirt and post-race refreshments. We have ordered 160 participant race T-shirts. As of Tuesday, March 15, you will receive a T-shirt, but you may not be guaranteed your size. When this changes, we'll update this section.

COURSE

The race will follow an out-and-back course. Runners will go west on S. Rivershire and will turn right on to Prince of Wales. At Prince of Wales, turn left, pass two streets on the right, make a quick right and then a left onto Gladstell. Runners will run in the opposite lane of traffic to Sgt. Ed Holcomb Blvd. and take a left. The turnaround will be on Sgt. Holcomb Blvd. where runners will follow the route back to the finish line. The 3K Walk and the Kids 1K will share the same course.

COURSE CERTIFICATION

The race course has been certified. The certification number is TX11013ETM. As of February 28, the map has not yet been posted to the USATF web site.

COURSE RESTRICTIONS

No Rollerblades, no pets or no bikes. Headphones are discouraged for safety reasons. The race will be run through a quiet subdivision and then on to busily-traveled Gladstell St. and Sgt. Ed Holcomb Blvd.

AWARDS

5K RACE - Top overall male and female runners and masters (40+) finishers and the top 2 male and female finishers in the following age groups; 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70 and over. KID'S 1K (12 & UNDER) - All finishers receive medals. NO DUPLICATION OF AWARDS!

OVERALL WINNERS AND MASTERS WINNERS

The overall male and the overall female winners will receive a pair of United Airlines plane tickets. The overall male masters and the overall female masters winners will receive a free entry to the La Porte By The Bay Half Marathon on Sunday, December 4.

DIRECTIONS

Southbound on I-45: Take exit #85 (Gladstell St). Stay on feeder. Right on N Rivershire Dr. (street after Buckelew Chevrolet) ..... Northbound on I-45: Take exit #84B stay on feeder turn left on Gladstell go under freeway turn left on feeder and turn on Rivershire street past Buckelew Chevrolet

PARKING

Please park in lot behind medical building and leave the front lot open.

PACKET PICK UP

Will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, March 25 at Conroe Eye Clinic, 333 N Rivershire Dr, Suite 160 -or- at starting point on race day.

TIMING

The 5K race only will be chip-timed by Run Houston Timing. The IPICO timing chip will be worn on the participants' shoe - secured through the shoelaces - and must be worn to be considered an official finisher.
