This year we are also raising money for the family of Sabrine Charif, the step-daughter of officer Larry Christopher of the Coconut Creek Police department. Sabrine was involved in a serious auto accident in June and she has been in a coma ever since. One half of all money raised for our race this year will be used to help with the high costs incurred for Sabrine's care and rehabilitation.
Our last 3 North Creek Explorer 5K races received unanimous 5 STAR ratings from our valued participants on Active.com. Be sure to check out the great comments we received from our 2010 and 2011 races!
The Coconut Creek Law Enforcement Explorers program provides a means through which young men and woman, ages fourteen to eighteen, may determine, through actual experience and training, if they would like to pursue a career in law enforcement. Funds raised over and above the operational costs of the Run/Walk would be used to pay for uniforms, equipment, trips, regional competitions, and supplies for the Explorers.
$20 before Nov. 1, $25 after Nov. 1 $30.00 on race day
Certified 5K (5,000 meters or 3.1 miles).
Male and female; 10 and under, 11-14,15-19,20-24,25-29,30-34,35-34,40-44,45-49,50-54,55-59,60-64,65-69,70-74,75-79,80 and over.
Trophies: Male/Female top 3 overall, top masters (40 and over), top grand masters (over age 60), top junior (17 and under), and ALL AGE GROUP WINNERS. Medals: Male/Female All age group 2nd, and 3rd place.
All pre-registered finishers age 12 and under will receive a distinctive finishers medal.
Designated as the City of Coconut Creek 5K Championship. Trophies will be awarded to the highest finishing male and female city residents; overall, junior, masters, and senior masters categories. City residents are also eligible to win overall and age category awards.
The first 300 participants to register will receive a long sleeve shirt. Quantities and sizes may be limited on raceday, so be sure to register early.
North Creek Presbyterian Church is located a short distance North of the intersection of Hillsboro and Lyons Road in Coconut Creek.
