Brief Description

In its debut last year, 139 runners and walkers register for this event put on by Cooper Elementary PTA in Clayton. Timothy Holtzhauser led all runners across the finish line is 18:30. Kaelin Amaya led all the women in 22:21. The races all start and finish at the school which is located at 849 North Mial Street in Clayton.

Race Day Schedule

Late entrants can register and pre-registered entrants can pick up their packets beginning at 7:30 am on race day. The mile begins at 9 am followed by the start of the 5K Run/5K Walk at 9:30 am. The Kid’s Dash will start at 10:30 am.

Entry Fees/T-shirts

Entry fees will be as follows: 5K Run - $20, 5K Walk - $15, Mile - $10. Kid’s Dash - $5. After February 16th, the fees for the 5K Run and 5K Walk will increase to $25 and $20, respectively. T-shirts are guaranteed to all those entered in the 5K Run by February 16th. After that date, it will be “as supplies last.”

Awards

In the 5K run, awards will be presented to the first three males overall, to the first three females overall and to the first three finishers in each of the following age divisions (both sexes): 11-under, 12-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 50-over. In both the 5K Walk and the mile, awards will be given to the first three finishers. All those who participate in the Kid’s Dash will receive a ribbon.

Race Proceeds

Proceeds from the race will be donated by the Cooper Elementary PTA to Cooper Elementary for the purchase of Smart Boards for the classrooms.
