Brief Description

On Saturday, December 1st, 2012, we will be hosting our third annual C35K. This year, all of the proceeds of the 5K will be going to send a team to Port Au Prince, Haiti to serve with Mission Of Hope. While we are there we are going to help up fit what would be the first homes that families ever lived in, spend time with children in local villages, and work to help complete the team home on the Mission of Hope campus

History

In March of 2012 over 300 runners and walkers entered this event, the majority of which were attendees or members of the sponsoring Cleveland Community Church. The race starts and ends at the Church which is located at 8246 Cleveland Road in Clayton. Nick Newland led the way in the 5K finishing in a course-record 18:34. Joy Cupstid led the women in 24:07. Carmen Torme holds the women’s course mark of 22:20 set in 2011.

Starting times

The mile fun run begins at 9:00 am; the featured 5K starts at 9:30 am.

Entry Fees

Entrants in the 5K have a choice of entering either as a competitive (timed) or recreational (not timed)runner. The entry fees are the same for each category - $25, increasing to $30 after November 18th. The fees for the mile are $10 and $15, respectively The entry fee includes a t-shirt.

Awards

Awards will be given to the first three male finishers to the first three female finishers overall, and to the first three finishers in each of the following age groups (both sexes): 13-under, 14-17, 18-24, 25-35, and 36-up. Ribbons will be given out the those who finish the mile.
