Course
This USATF-certified 5K (3.1 mile)course starts at 58th Street & University , heads north on University to 57th Street (eastbound lanes), east to Stony Island. The course then moves to the paths at Stony Island, travels east under the 57th Street/LSD underpass, moves to the lakefront paths and turns around back under the underpass along the paths to 57th Street (westbound lanes). The course then proceeds along 57th street and back to 58th Street just past University through the school buildings.
Chips
This year's Comer Kids' Classic will feature the new d-tag (disposable timing chip). When you pick up your runner number, it will already be attached to your bib. You will then directly attach it to your shoelaces. Here's the best part: When you cross, the line, no need turn the chip back in! Throw it away or keep it as a souvenir!
Timing
Special mats will be placed at the finish line. You must cross over the mats to receive accurate times. IF YOU DO NOT WEAR THE CHIP OR DO NOT CROSS OVER THE MATS, YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A TIME. All awards will be given according to official gun time.

You can also pick up your packet/bib#/t-shirt on race day from 9:00am to 9:50am.
Race Day Registration
The registration fee for walk-up participants on October 18 will be $30. Sign up early before September 1st and save $5!
Race Day Registration and Pre-Registration/Packet Pick-Up will take place from 9:00am to 9:50am on event day.
Team Captains
If you are part of a team, the Team Captain must first create your Team Name by clicking on the Team Captains - Create Your Team link. They then need to continue on and register for the event.
Team Members
Once your Team Captain has created your team name, click on the Register Now link and select the Team Entry category. Select your team name from the drop down box on the form & get registered.
Directions & Parking
RECOMMENDED FREE PARKING IS AVAILABLE AT THE PARKING GARAGE LOCATED AT 5525 S. ELLIS.Limited street parking may be available along 59th Street, 61st street, North Plaisance and South Plaisance, Woodlawn and Ellis. There will be no parking along 57th Street between Ellis and Cornell and on University between 57th and 58th during the event. Recommended CTA routes include: Bus #2 Hyde Park Express, #6 Jeffrey Express, #28 Stony Island Express, #171 University of Chicago, #4 Cottage Grove.
