Brief Description

Ellen's Run is an annual race held in honor of Ellen Vala Schneider. Ellen was a long time resident of Section V in Chevy Chase and a tireless volunteer in a wide range of community programs. Ellen's Run will benefit two charities in which Ellen was very active: Mental Health Association of Montgomery County, on whose Board of Directors she served, and the Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School Community Scholarship Fund, of which she was Chair.

Directions

FROM I-495 -- Take Exit 33/MD 185 S/Connecticut Avenue. Turn left on to East-West Highway/MD 410. Turn right on to Meadowbrook Lane. Follow Meadowbrook Lane to the second stop sign and turn right. Follow the road around to the left. Candy Cane City Pavilion is at the end of the road.--- Parking on Meadowbrook Lane will be very limited. The Pavilion is also accessible from the Rock Creek footbridge by the intersection of Beach Drive and Woodbine Street.

Late Registrations

On October 1st adult fees rise according to the following schedule:

  • Adult: Prior to October 1 ($25) After October 1 ($35)

    On October 16th fees rise according to the following schedule:
  • Adult: Prior to October 16 ($35) On October 16 ($40)
  • Student: Prior to October 16 ($15) On October 16 ($20)

    Be sure to register before COB October 1st to get the most discounted entry fee!

    • Packet Pick-up / In-Person Registration

  • Saturday, October 15, B-CC HS, 12 noon - 3:00 PM
    or
  • Sunday, October 16, Candy Cane City, 8:00 AM-8:45 AM

  • We time the race using lightweight, re-usable IPICO timing tags, affixed to your shoe. You may pick up your t-shirt and bib number on Saturday, but please allow time on Sunday to pick up your IPICO timing tag. Please return your timing tag after the race.

    • Additional Information

    Family atmosphere with dogs allowed in the 3k Fun Run / Walk. Chip timing for the 5k with prizes for the overall winners. Prizes for age group winners.
