Brief Description

The Cheshire YMCA SEA DOG 5K is a certified course that starts in Cheshires Bartlem Park and runs on a rolling course that includes the paved Linear Trail in Cheshire, CT. Timing and race support is provided by HI-TEK Racing. A Kids Doggie Dash Fun Run will follow at 11;00am.

Cheshire YMCA Healthy Living Expo & SEA DOG 5k

The Cheshire Community YMCA in conjunction with our Sea Dog Swim Team is hosting our 1st Annual Healthy Living Expo featuring a 5K Run/Walk and Kids Doggie Dash Fun Run. The Expo’s goal is to raise awareness of health and wellness issues and inform attendees of the related services and products within our community.

The Cheshire Community YMCA

Money raised through this event will go toward YMCA programs such as our Strong Kids Campaign which provides children and teens, and families with life-enriching activities and programs that they might not have access to otherwise, and our Nationally ranked Sea Dog Swim Team.

Healthy Living Expo

• 50 area health service providers will be represented. • Various doctors in attendance include orthopaedic, lung, general practitioners, therapists, and chiropractors. • Hospital staff including Yale New Haven, Midstate Medical, St Mary’s and The Harold Leever Cancer Center will be on site. • CVS pharmacist outreach will be on site. • Activities for all, including, obstacle courses, Martial Arts, SCUBA, biking, golf.

YMCA Baby Sitting

Free YMCA baby sitting will be provided for all registered runners during the 5k. (please call the Cheshire Y @ 203-272-3150 to pre-register your child)

Additional Information

The race will feature a pre-race warm up provided by Select Physical Therapy Group @ 9;15am. The event will feature age catagory prizes, a post race party and T-shirts will be given to all registered runners!
