10K and 5K races, 5K fun run/walk and 1-Mile fun run/walk begin and end near the bottom of Cameron Hill Circle which leads to the new BCBST campus, Chattanooga, TN 37402. Both the 10K and 5K races are certified and will be scored electronically.
The BlueCross Riverbend Run & Walk is sponsored by BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, Comcast, Powerade, Dasani and Coca Cola.
10K Fun Run or 5K Fun Run or Walk - Adults (age 12-59) $15, Seniors (60 & over) and Children (under 12) $9 by June 7. Adults $19, Seniors and Children $13 June 8 to June 17. Adults $25, Seniors and Children $19 Race Day, June 18. 1-Mile Fun Run or Walk - All ages $8 by June 7. $10 June 8 to Race Day June 18. Non-competitive participants will not be timed and will not be eligible for prize money, overall awards or age group awards.

Cash awards for 10K - 1st place winners, male and female, will receive $100 cash awards, 1st place masters (40 & over) winners, male and female, will receive $50 cash awards and 1st place grandmasters (50 & over) winners, male and female, will receive $25 cash awards. All cash award winners will receive two (2) tickets to the June 18 Riverbend Festival. Cash awards will be presented at the Festival on June 18 in the evening. Winners must be present to receive cash awards.

The BlueCross Riverbend Run & Walk is held in conjunction with the Riverbend Festival. The festival is a nationally recognized 9-day event that features over 100 artists performing on 5 stages along the banks of the TN River. Some of the featured artists scheduled at this time include Huey Lewis & the News, The Beach Boys, Casting Crowns and Miranda Lambert.Race night a gigantic fireworks display follows the entertainment. Special advance rate admission pins are available for only $24 (limit 4) with your completed BlueCross Riverbend Run & Walk registration form until June 9 (while supplies last). Pins allow admission for all nine days to the Festival. Children 10 and under are admitted free. Pre-paid pins may be picked up with race packet. See Early Packet Pickup below for location and times.
Competitors will be issued electronic timing devices attached to the back of their race numbers at packet pickup. The assigned race number with timing device attached must be worn on the front of the participants shirt during the entire event. The race number with timing device attached must not be folded, torn or mutilated in any way. Runners who fail to wear their assigned number with timing device during the entire 10K or 5K race will not be eligible for any award.
A scenic flat/rolling course that crosses the Tennessee River on both the Walnut Street and the Market Street Bridges in downtown Chattanooga.
Utilizes the first two miles and last mile of the 5K course plus a tour of the Tennessee Riverwalk (moderately hilly).
An out and back course on the streets of downtown Chattanooga.

There will be drawings for door prizes (must be present to win) during the awards ceremonies following the 5K and 10K races.
Race packet and purchased Riverbend pins (if applicable) pickup will be available at the BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee tent at the Riverbend Festival. The tent is located on the Chestnut Street side of the Tennessee Aquarium. Pickup will be from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. EDT Friday, June 10 through Friday, June 17 (the tent is closed Monday, June 13). The tent can be reached without going into the Riverbend Festival but must be approached from the Tennessee Aquarium side of the tent to do this.
From Nashville–take I-24 East to Hwy 27 North. /From Atlanta-take I-75 North to I-24 West. Follow Hwy 27 North. /From Knoxville-take I-75 South to I-24 West. Follow Hwy 27 North /From Hwy 27 North or South exit onto 4th Street. Park at nearest legal parking place. Walk on Broad St. north toward the river to the front of the Tennessee Aquarium. Turn left and walk down the sidewalk to the back of the BlueCross Riverbend Run & Walk tent.
Race day packet pickup begins at 6:30 a.m. EDT at the BCBST Gateway Bldg. at the Corner of Gateway Ave and Cameron Hill Cir, Chattanooga TN, 37402. Race Start is on Cameron Hill Cir, just up from Gateway Ave. Parking area (see below) on 6th St. is one block from registration, pickup area and race start.

Hotels close to the race start include the Days Inn Rivergate, 901 Carter St, 423-266-7331; the Marriott at #2 Carter Plaza, 423-756-0002; and The Sheraton Read House, 827 Broad St, 423-266-4121. Hotels fill up quickly due to the Riverbend Festival. Please make your reservations early.
