Miles Against Melanoma is on a mission to fight melanoma by increasing awareness, supporting patients/survivors and families and to fundraise for research. One person dies every 62 minutes from melanoma. The 1st annual Miles Against Melanoma 6.2K will take place in Charlotte on April, 28 2012 at 8:00 AM.
Amy Jo Ross Robinson was first diagnosed with melanoma when she was just a junior in high school, after a biopsy was performed on a mole she had removed. She had surgery to remove the lymph nodes from the surrounding area and was in remission for over 10 years until it came back in her lungs and eventually taking her life. Amy was only 30 years old when she died. Miles Against Melanoma NC is dedicated to raising the public's awareness of melanoma and funds for it's research so no one else will have to suffer like Amy. Event schedule and times
Packet Pick-up will be on April 27th from 10:00-6:00 at Omega Sports located in the Arboretum.
Race Start and Finish will be located at the Arboretum on the corner of HWY 51 and Providence Rd. Race Day activities will be located at the Omega Sports in the Arboretum beside the Wal-Mart.
