Race Expo
Location: Charlotte Convention Center
Pick up your race packet and ChampionChip at the expo during regular
operating hours on Thursday December 9th from 4 p.m.-9 p.m. and Friday December 10th from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
FEES
Marathon - $75 until March. 31st, $85 until July 31st., $95 until Dec. 3rd, $125 on Dec. 9tha nd 10th at the Expo
Amica Insurance Half Marathon -$45 until March 31st, $55 until July 31st, $65 until Dec. 3rd, and $95 on Dec. 9th and 10th at the Expo
5K - $25 until March 31st, $30 until July 31, $35 until Dec. 3rd and $45 on Dec. 9th and 10th at the Expo
*IMPORTANT* TIME LIMIT
The marathon has a 6-hour time limit and the Amica Insurance Half Marathon has a 3 hour time limit. Runners who cannot maintain a 13:45 per mile pace will be asked to leave the course for their own safety.
Pit Stops will close and volunteers and police officers at intersections will not be available to participants who fall below the 13:45 per mile pace. This will be strictly enforced.
SMARTBOX Pit Stops - Refuel Stations & Restrooms
Water and Electrolyte drinks will be available at the following places along the course: Mile 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 23.5, and 25.
CLIF SHOT BLOKS will be provided at mile markers 16 and 20.
And perhaps for some, most importantly, portable restrooms will be stationed at the water stations, about every two miles along the course.
Parking and Marathon Directions
Parking in Uptown Charlotte - there is no free parking in Charlotte on the weekends. Visit this link www.aboutparking.com/charlotte to scout out lots that are most convenient for your drive into Charlotte. Remember - race day can be very busy with our road closures effecting some of the ways you travel into town. We do encourage carpooling with friends and family and if you live on the south side of town - we highly recommend the Lynx Lightrail system. It drops you off very close to the Expo & Race Start line. Road Closures are listed below to help in planning your parking:
Road Closures
- Caldwell St -North/Southbound will be closed beginning Friday, December 11th at 6pm through Saturday, December 12th at 4pm. Closure is from 3rd Street to Stonewall Street.
- Brevard St - North/Southbound will be closed beginning Friday, December 11th at 6pm through Saturday, December 12th at 4pm. Closure is from 3rd Street to Stonewall Street.
- College St - North/Southbound will be closed beginning Saturday, December 12th at 5am and will reopen at 9am. Closure is from 3rd Street to Stonewall Street.
- Stonewall Street - This will be closed temporarily at the start of the race (7:50am through 8:30am)
