Brief Description

The Cooper River Bridge Run is becoming one of the top 10K wheelchair competitions in the US. This point to point race starts in Mt. Pleasant, crosses the bridge and ends in historic downtown Charleston SC. The new Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge is 2.5 miles long and 200 feet high (about 30 feet higher than the old bridges). The slope is 4%.

Packet Pickup / Pre Race Meeting

Friday April 1, 2011, 6pm. Meet at Holiday Inn, 250 Johnnie Dodds Blvd., Hwy. 17
All racers are encouraged to attend for updated course details. Dinner provided.
There will be no race day registration or packet pickup.

Qualifications

This race will abide by WTFUSA rules. All racers must provide written verification of an official 10K finish under 45 minutes within the last year with application to qualify for this event.

Race Day Information

Athlete/ equipment pickup at 5:30am in front of the Holiday Inn, then taken to starting line. Start at 7:25, staging at 7:10. Everyday chairs will be taken to start and finish lines, then unloaded at “wheelchair pickup area”- behind Federal Bldg. corner of Meeting/ Elizabeth St.

Post Race

Enjoy the post race party and awards at 9:30am in Marion Square.
Top Male, Female, & Quad Division Finishers must be present at awards.
All athletes are welcome.

Prize money and travel stipends will be given at award ceremony. Accessible buses will be available after race to return to hotel until 1pm. Racing chairs will be returned to Holiday Inn, lobby.
