Brief Description

Back by popular demand! We will be holding the pre-race and post-race festivities at Cannon Park to include beer and food. The race route starts and finishes on Bennett St. close to Ashley Ave. The top five male and female finishers will receive cash awards, in addition to age group awards. New features in 2011 include the only point-to-point 5K in the state, the live band, Two 3 Ways, a non-competitive bicycle race and an 8:30am start time.

Parking

Street parking is available or your can park in the MUSC Ashley Rutledge parking garage. You can enter the garage on Rutledge or Ashley Ave. This is the patient/ visitor garage and will cost $1.50/ hour. Please do not park on Bennett or Barre on the blocks of the race route.

Bicycle

For the first time the James Island Connector Run will include a non-competitive bicycle race. It's the only day of the year the connector is open to runners and bikers. This is a fun ride, no awards will be given. Bikers will lead the race and do the same course as the 10K run.

Awards

The top 5 male and female finishers for the 10K and 5K Run will receive cash awards. The top prize will be $250; 2nd place, $150; 3rd place, $100; 4th place $75; and 5th place $50. First male and female Master and Grandmaster in the 10K and 5K will receive $100. The top 3 male and female finishers in each age group of the 10K and 5K will also receive an award.

Packet Pick-Up

T-shirt and packet pick-up will be at Whole Foods Market in Mount Pleasant on Friday, November 4th from 2pm-7pm and on race morning at Cannon Park from 7:15-8:15am.

Additional Information

The James Island Connector Run benefits the Gavalas Kolanko Foundation, a local charity that awards annual scholarships to students with physical disabilities at in the Lowcountry. To date, the GKF has awarded 50 scholarships to students with disabilities at The College of Charleston and 2 scholarships at Charleston Southern University. Help us award even more scholarships by signing up for our race!
