Bring the whole family! The Cary Road Race features a 10K, a 5K and a one-mile Fun Run. First race begins at 8:30 a.m. Race Day registration and packet pick-up available at Booth Amphitheatre from 7:00am - 9:00am. Road Race - The 10K will start at 8:30 a.m. The 5K will start at 9:45 a.m. 1 Mile Fun Run will start at 10:30 a.m. Awards will be presented immediately following each race. Event Fees: Advance Registration 5K or 10K, Recreation Runner* - $10.00 5K or 10K, Competitive Runner* - $13.00 Race Day Registration 5K or 10K, Recreational Runner* - $12.00 5K or 10K, Competitive Runner* - $17.00 Fun Run - Free, but participants must register (registration can be done on race day) T-shirts (100% Cotton)- $5 each while supplies last. Preregistered runner will receive priority on sizes. Sizes include YM, YL, S, M, L, XL & XXL. NO REFUNDS. Competitive/Recreational Runner Descriptions Recreational Runner: Choose this classification if you do not care about being eligible for any awards and you do not want your finish time to be recorded. You will be responsible for getting your own finish time from the large digital clock at the finish line or by timing yourself. Competitive Runner: Choose this classification if you want to be eligible for any awards, and/or if you want to get an official time which will appear in the official race results that will be published in The Cary News and posted on the Cary Road Race web page. Baby Joggers Baby joggers will be allowed in both the 5K and the 10K events. This is for exhibition only - no awards will be presented in this division. Baby joggers should register as recreational runners. The passenger must be secured in stroller and should be wearing a safety helmet. All stroller require a minimum 14" diameter wheel and must be heavy duty stroller designed for racing. We ask that entrants in this division yield to other runners. Award Categories: Overall awards for the top three finishers (male and female) in both the 5 & 10K. Awards for the top three master and grand master finishers (male and female) in both the 5 & 10K. Oldest runner and youngest runner awards. top three place finishers for each category listed below, for both the 5 & 10K: 13 & under, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & over, wheelchair. Ages are determined as of the day of the race. Race Proceeds: Proceeds from the Cary Road Race are earmarked each year for local projects. The 2012 Cary Road Race proceeds will be used to enhance existing greenways and trails in Cary. There are approximately 20 miles of greenways in the Cary area, many of which link to state and county trails. Cary residents have been enjoying these valued amenities since 1980. Past projects include resurfacing the Cary H.S. Track, contributing to the Kids Together Playground, and Triangle Area Special Olympics Athletes.
