Background

This is the first of 3 races in the “First Annual Share the Passion 5K Race Series” being put on this year by LifeTime Fitness in Cary. All the races will start at the LifeTime Fitness facility located at 1700 Regency Parkway. The races will all end up at the Koka Booth Amphitheater. The other races in the Series will be the Memorial Day 5K on May 28th and the Independence day 5K on July 2nd. All of the races in the Series are open to everyone - it is not just for LifeTime Fitness members.

Race Day Schedule

For the Bunny Run, the 5K will begin at 9 am while the Kid’s Fun Run, a half-mile run for kid’s ages 8 and under, starts at 10 am.

Course Information

The same course will be used for all three races and is described as “flat, fast, and scenic.” Part of the course is on the Swift Creek Greenway and the looparound the lake at Regency Park. For a copy of the course map, go to http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/30219032

Awards

In the 5K awards will be given to the top male overall, to the top female overall, to the top master finisher of each sex, and to the top three finishers in each of the following age groups – 13-under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70-over. Ribbons will be given to all kids who finish the Kid’s Fun Run.

Entry Fees/T-shirts

The entry fee for the 5K is $25. On race day, the fee increases to $30. T-shirts are guaranteed to the first 200 entrants. The fee for the Kid’s Fun Run is $5. There is also a special $60 fee for anyone who wishes to enter all three races.

Kid's Fun Run

The Kid's Fun Run, a 1/2-mile run for kids ages 3-8 years old, will begin at 10 am. In addition to the run, the $5 entry fee also includes an Easter Egg Hunt and other children activities.

Late Registration/Packet Pickup

Race packets can be picked up and late entries can register at LifeTime Fitness on Friday, April 22nd from noon to 8 pm, and also on race day morning beginning at 6:30 am.

Proceeds benefit ...

Proceeds from the race will non-profit organizations within the community that support the well-being and health of children and families, with particular emphasis on helping young people to maximize their potential.
