Description
Run Top of Zion Relay to "Inspire the Soul, Improve the Body, and Strengthen Relationships! " A relay race consist of 6 "ultra" team members or 12 team members taking turns running the distance of approximately 200 miles. Top of Zion Relay features some of the most breathtaking, diverse, awe inspiring scenery in the world! You will run through red towering cliffs, steep forests, majestic vistas, white mountain rock, open plains, country roads, quiet lakes, serene aspen covered valleys, small rural towns and much more. Come run it yourself to find out. There is nothing better than to be in the company of your family and friends as you enjoy a natural high from running through such God-given wonders.
The relay will begin next to Capitol Reef National Park at Rim Rock Inn, turn on to Utah's only "All-American Road" (also known as Highway 12). The "All-American" road passes through Dixie National Forest, over Boulder Mountain, through Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Red Canyon, Bryce Canyon National Park and several other smaller state parks. 122 miles of the 200 mile course will be run here. The course continues south on the "Scenic Byway" 89 for a short distance before it turns onto Mammoth road heading for more of Dixie National Forest on Cedar Mountain (highway 14). The last legs turns onto Navajo Lake road passing Navajo Lake and runs south overlooking the top of Zion National Park! The relay finishes at Zion Ponderosa Ranch and Resort in the infamous western pine forests.
