Wineglass Half Marathon Registration/Entry Limits

The Wineglass Half Marathon online registration will close at either 1,500 runners or on September 22, 2011 (which ever comes first). If registration closes by reaching 1,500 runners, a waiting list will be maintained through the wineglassmarathon.com website. Please visit the website for details and to get onto the waiting list.

Buses

Buses from the Finish to the Start Line prior to the race are complimentary. Bus departures begin shortly after 5:30 am with the last departure at 7:00 am sharp! There will be separate buses designated to go to the full marathon and half marathon starting areas. They will take runners to their respective Start Line areas only. Please use the buses designated to the Half Marathon Start Line.

Runners' Expo

The Expo for the 31st Wineglass Marathon and 2nd Wineglass Half Marathon will begin on Friday afternoon (09/28) and go through Saturday (09/29). Location will be the Corning Community YMCA. Visit the Wineglass website for more details.

Benefit/Donation

A portion of each entry fee for the Wineglass Half Marathon will be donated to the Corning Community YMCA to further their Mission in providing programs and opportunities toward a Healthy and Active Lifestyle in the local community.

Additional Information

Wait List Policy

In order to be placed on the wait list for the 2nd Annual Wineglass Half Marathon, you are required to complete the online form with your credit card information. Your credit card will not be charged, but held in a secure manner so that we have it on file should you be admitted into the race. You will receive a confirmation email that you have been placed on the wait list, however this does not guarantee a race registration.

If race registration becomes available and you are admitted into the race, we will automatically charge your credit card on file with the full entry fee. You will receive a confirmation email if you are admitted.

At any time, if you decide that you no longer want to remain on the wait list, please contact us via email at info@wineglassmarathon.com or call 607-654-7601 to avoid credit card charges. Your credit card will be processed if a space becomes available for you unless you pull your name from the wait list.

The wait list process will remain in effect until August 15. After this date, no additional entries will be allowed. All requests that cannot be fulfilled will be removed from the wait list after August 15, and your credit card will not be charged.

All Runners in the Half Marathon will receive a Wineglass Half Marathon long-sleeved high-tec shirt (Asics), Pleasant Valley NYS Brut Champagne with commemorative Wineglass Half Marathon logo and race date silk-screen, and commemorative Wineglass Half Marathon "wine glass". All finishers will be awarded a commemorative/unique Glass Medal from Hand's On Glass.

Post Race Party will be held in the park near the finish line with plenty of food (pizza, chicken soup, string cheese, bagels, cookies, applies, bananas) and drinks. Showers are available at the Corning Area YMCA in downtown Corning

Because our course is a point-to-point race the best option for runners traveling without a non-running driver is to park at the Finish area and take a bus to the Start in the morning. This eliminates the need to wait until the afternoon for buses to go back to the starting area to get your car.

Buses will be designated for the half marathon start line.
