Race Course

The YMCA Turkey Trot is an 8k (4.97 mile) footrace which begins at Delaware Avenue and Shoreham. The race course follows Delaware Avenue into downtown Buffalo. The route proceeds around Niagara Square to Church Street and then onto Franklin Street where runners will cross the finish line in front of the Buffalo Convention Center.

Packet Pickup

Runners may pick up packets at the Delaware YMCA from Monday, November 22 through Wednesday, November 24 between 9:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Timing

You will receive a disposable timing device with your race packet that corresponds to your race number. The timing device can be discarded after you cross the finish line.

Awards

Distinctive trophies will be awarded to:

1st place male and female, 1st place male and female masters, and 1st through 3rd place male and female in the following age categories:

14 & under, 15 to 19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & over.

Overall and Masters winners will be determined by gun time. Age group winners will be determined by chip time.

Team Information

In addition to the four member family team category, we also offer a two member husband/wife and a four member corporate co-ed team category. Call (716) 875-1283 for a team application, or enter at the Delaware YMCA by Saturday, November 20th.

The cost is $5.00 U.S. currency per team, which is paid in addition to your individual entry fee.  

Post Race Celebration Family Area

We're setting up a separate area downstairs in the Convention Center for families wishing to avoid the crowds but still take part in the post race celebration. Get your race results and enjoy some food and drinks as you and your family unwind with other families after a great race!

Shuttle Bus Service

Shuttle buses will run from the Convention Center to the Delaware YMCA from 7:00 – 7:45 am. LAST BUS LEAVES THE CONVENTION CENTER AT 7:45 AM. Shuttle buses will run from the Convention Center (Pearl St. side) to the Delaware YMCA from 10:00 – 11:45 am.
