Brief Description

This is our ninth year for the 50K Run. We will not be limiting entries this year, so invite your friends. The course will include parts of the VT50 Mile, so come challenge yourself!


You can mt. bike 50 miles, run 50 miles, 50 mile 2-3 person relay run or run 50 kilometers, of hilly Vermont trails (75%) and dirt roads (25%) during peak foliage season.

Location:

Registration Package Pickup (Mt. Bikers), Registration (Runners), Meals, Start and Finish in Cunningham building Parking lot at Ascutney Mountain Resort in Brownsville, VT.


Entry Fee:

$125 – Mountain Bikers (limited to 650 riders)
$115 – Runners
$225– RUNNER Relay (2-3 person team)
Combined runners limited to 550


The top 15 fundraisers will get free entry the following year! Plus a special gift. Details with confirmation of your entry.


Fee Includes: Breakfast Munchies, aid station food, Post Race Dinner, T shirt and festivities, and a few more surprises.
Registration Package Pickup:

Pick up your registration packets on Saturday, September 24, 2011, 12:00 to 8:00 PM Participants must pick up their own registration packets. Photo ID is required to pick up packets.

Entrants must pre-register on line by September 16th, 2011, Just pick up racer packets on Saturday September 24th.

NO REGISTRATION ON SUNDAY

Note that registration transfer entries between friends is not permitted.


Racer Meeting:

Sunday, September 25th, 2011 at 5:00 a.m. All 50 mile racers must attend and give Bib # to check-in person. (50 mile racers only)

50K runners: Meet at 7:30am (50k runners ONLY)


Children's Fun Races:

These free fun races gives the kids a chance to feel like they're part of the Vermont 50 and are held during registration, starting Saturday, 3 p.m.

Registration for the Kids Race opens at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Big White Tent at Cunningham Parking Lot.

Races
1/2 Mile - a single loop, starting at 3 p.m.
1 Mile - two loops, starting at 3:30 p.m.


Race Start:

6:00 AM (12 Hour Limit) Be prepared for a chilly and foggy morning start!


No headphones:

Having your ears covered while racing is a safety hazard, so once again we will not allow headphones to be worn by racers during the race.


Aid Stations:

Ten (10) throughout the course. Three aid stations will be accessible to handlers. The aid stations are well stocked with drinks and food. You won't be hungry!! However, there is no guarantee that any given aid station will have exactly what you want (e.g. Mt. Dew, etc).


Post-Race Dinner:

Cookout served from approximately 12:00 - 6:40 PM (for races only). Vendors will be available to serve spectators. Live music.


Pre-Race Dinner:

Saturday, September 24, 2011. Spaghetti Dinner will be served, cost is $15 per person (NOT INCLUDED IN ENTRY FEE and limited to 250 people). The pre-race dinner will be at the Harvest Room, located in the hotel. Tickets available at packet pick up. Seating from 5:15 to 7:45.

50 K Runners at 2:00 PM

50 Mile Runners 4:00 PM

Prizes will be awarded to the Top Three in each category only.

Nearby towns 10-20 miles away but have motels. Windsor, Woodstock, Springfield (all in VT) and Lebanon, W Lebanon, NH. Directions:

Ascutney Mountain Resort is 10 miles from exit 8 or 9 off Interstate 91. Take Route 5 to Route 44. (From north, take Route 44A to Rt. 44). Located on Route 44. Take a left into the Resort,then go straight until you see the Base Lodge on your left and the Parking lot on your right .


Parking:

On Sunday, PARK AT THE BASE LODGE AND WALK OR BIKE DOWN TO THE RACE OFFICE ( look for signs). Please use parking lots only for parking!! NO CAMPING OR SLEEPING IN CARS THIS YEAR!!!

To get to the Base Lodge when turning off Route 44 continue straight (do not take turn). The parking lot will be on your right. If you park on the grass you will be towed!


Refund Policy:

Refunds will be permitted before September 1st. We will refund $50 as well as any extra T-shirts, not including Active.com service fee.
