Brief Description

Celebrate George Washington's real birthday by running PPTC's 14th Annual 2009 Cherry Tree race either as an individual "hard core" 10-mile runner, or as member of a 3-person relay team.

Course

Three full loops of Prospect Park's glorious rolling hills. Each relay team member will complete one loop.

Shirts

The first 400 registrants will receive a long-sleeve Brooks tech shirt. Size subject to availability. Women should order one size smaller. These shirts are a crowd favorite! ***PLEASE NOTE! WE HAVE REACHED THE 400 SHIRT LIMIT!!***

Professional race timing and scoring. Note: gun times only; no net times provided.

Early In-Person Registration and Packet Pickup

Slope Sports, 70 Seventh Avenue, Park Slope, Brooklyn, 4-7 pm on Thursday 2/19 and Friday 2/20; 3-6 pm on Saturday 2/21.

Race Day Registration and Packet Pick-up

Bishop Ford High School cafeteria, 19th Street and Prospect Park West, 8 to 9:30 am. Enter through the gymnasium.

Baggage Check

Baggage check will be provided indoors at Bishop Ford and outdoors adjacent to the start/finish line.

10-mile Race Awards

Top 3 10-milers overall, men and women. Top 3 10-milers in each 5-year age category from 19 & under to 70 & over, men and women. First male and female PPTC 10-milers. No duplication of awards.

10-mile Prize Money

New for 2009 - Cash awards to top 3 overall male and female finishers: $100 for first place, $50 for second place, $25 for third place.

Relay Team Awards

Top 3 male, female and co-ed relay teams. More relay awards in 2009!

Post Race Awards and Refreshments

Post race refreshments and award ceremony will be held in the Bishop Ford HS cafeteria. Free post race massage for all runners will be provided by the Swedish Institute.

Additional Information

Directions to Bishop Ford High School: By Car - BQE, Gowanus Expwy., or Battery Tunnel to Prospect Expwy., 10th Ave. exit. Make right at stop sign, turn right at 20th St., then go one block and turn right onto Prospect Park West. Entrance is through the gym at PPW & 19th St. By Bus - Bishop Ford is on the B67, B69 and B75 lines. The B68 stops nearby. By Subway - Take the F train to 15th Street/Prospect Park Station. Walk 5 blocks to the school on 19th Street.
