Brief Description

100% trails. Longclimb to 10,300 ft, multiple short steep climbs total 11,400 ft. The course isn't flagged but has blazes, cairns and is well-worn except in meadows. 1 aid station at 25 miles. Required to carry what you need for 5 - 9 hrs of running. Once out on the course there is no way out until turnaround. Possibility of mtn goats and the most beautiful views imaginable of Paradise Valley and the Beartooth and Metcalf Wilderness Areas. Exposure is extreme in case of a thunderstorm.

Races fills early

Full refunds for solo are offered into early July if somebody is on the wait list.

Additional Information

This is much more difficult than you expect. It cannot be your first 50 miler. Many experienced ultra-marathoners take over 15 hours. This race is in the Gnarly Dude Series. See www.math.montana.edu/~thayes/Runs/Runs.html for more info.
