Brief Description

This event is being held by American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) and American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine (AAPSM) in conjunction with the APMA's Annual Scientific Meeting (The National). The event is open to podiatrists and exhibitors who have registered for the meeting and their families. The location is Castle Island Park, a beautiful waterfront area. Buses depart at 5:15 a.m. from the lobby of APMA's host hotel, the Sheraton Boston.

Event Beneficiary

All proceeds from the event will benefit the APMA Educational Foundation Scholarship Program. Scholarships are awarded annually to eligible third- and fourth-year students attending one of the accredited colleges of podiatric medicine.

Event Type

This event is a 5K (3.1 mile) run/walk event. Participants may either run or walk the route.

Location Detail

The event will be held at Castle Island in Boston, MA. The start and finish will be located at Castle Island. This location is a scenic waterfront area not far from the Boston Sheraton Hotel.

Transportation

Buses depart at 5:15 am from the lobby of APMA's host hotel, the Boston Sheraton. If you prefer to take a taxi, please give yourself plenty of time to get your bib number on site if you haven’t already obtained it from the APMA booth in the exhibit hall on Thursday July 28 or Friday July 29.

Packet Pick-up

All registrants are to pick up their bib number at the APMA booth in the Hynes Convention Center during APMA’s exhibit hall hours on Thursday, July 28 (4:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m.), and Friday, July 29 (9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.). After picking up their bib number, participants will be directed to either the ASICS or New Balance booth to receive a Team APMA shirt and goodie bag. On-site bib and shirt pick-up will be available at Castle Island on the morning of the race.

On-site Registration

On-line registration is open until July 18. If the race capacity has not been met, on-site registration for members and exhibitors will be available at the APMA booth during exhibit hall hours on Thursday July 28 and Friday July 29.

Awards

The event will be timed manually at the finish line and awards will be given to the top three men and women runners and the top three men and women walkers. Awardees will be announced during the APMA closing reception on Saturday, July 30. Registration and a fee apply to attendance at the closing reception. You may register for the APMA closing reception at the APMA booth on site during exhibit hall hours, or when you register to attend the meeting.

Registration Fee Detail

$25.00 per registrant (limited to 250 participants). All registrants will receive a free ASICS running shirt. Shirt sizes will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
