Brief Description

Participants rave about the CDI Back In Shape’s 5k Run presented by Northwestern Health Sciences University. From the food to the sports massages, runners won’t find a more participant-friendly race in Minnesota. Look for prize drawings featuring airline tickets, gift certificates and more; post-race buffet with fruit, muffins, juice and more; delayed video feed from the finish line; open swim in 25-meter pool, locker rooms available; and post-race health screening.

Fees

5k Run and Walk: $20, or $25 day of race

Richfield Bloomington Credit Union Kids' Run: $7, or $10 day of race

Special Family Rate of $40: Entry into any of the events for up to four family members all from the same address (no more than two two adults and must include at least one parent). Please mail one registration form per person together with one check.

Courses

The 5k run is an out-and-back course primarily on 84th Street and France Avenue. The route is along suburban streets and includes several hills. The walk is also an out-and-back course, with a portion of the walk looping around Lake Girard on woodchip trails. Walkers can decide the length of their walk by doing one, two or three circuits of the Lake. Wheelchairs and strollers are welcome on the walk. Due to the woodchip trails, you have the option of following the run course.

Food Donations

Bring non-perishable food items for VEAP, an organization dedicated to providing assistance to low-income people, and receive one raffle ticket entry into our drawing for a $500 travel voucher. Check out the Back In Shape Web site for other pledging opportunities.

6:45 a.m. Registration and packet pick up opens

8 a.m. CDI Back In Shape 5K Run start

9 a.m. Patrick Holmes Memorial Walk start

9 a.m. Awards ceremony for 5k run in the cafeteria (also prize drawing)

10 a.m. Richfield Bloomington Credit Union Kids' Runs (on the soccer field)
