Brief Description

Run for Project Peanut Butter! Project Peanut Butter is a humanitarian project focused in Malawi, a country in Southeast Africa. Using a peanut-based Ready to Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF), this project has had an enormous impact on infant mortality rates. The peanut butter is energy rich, lipid based and is produced at a locally. The infants can then eat this nutrient rich food at home where they have a much better recovery than if they were put in a hospital.

Weather

The run will go on in rain or shine. Registrations are non-refundable.

Money Raised!

Thank you all for coming out in the rainy weather! We raised $1273, enough to treat an entire village for a whole year. Definitely something to be proud and happy about. Thanks again!

The Cal Undergraduate Public Health Coalition (Cal UPHC) strives to provide opportunities for students to gain R.E.A.L experience in the field of public health through Research, Experience, Action and Leadership. We, the International Health Committee of Cal UPHC, are hosting a 5K Nutty Run/Walk to raise awareness for global malnutrition by donating proceeds to Project Peanut Butter, an organization dedicated to lower infant mortality rates in Malawi through a highly nutritious peanut paste.
