Brief Description

The purpose of this event is to gather the Baton Rouge community together to participate in a 5K and/or 1M walk/run to benefit Operation Smile. Our theme is "Light up the Night." Participants are encouraged to be as creative as they want by incorporating lights and other glowing objects to make their running gear as bright and loud as possible. So as the night falls, attention will be on the supporting families that are lighting up the night by running and walking for Operation Smile.

Directions for 1M Run/Walk

Registration in Lafayette Park. Start at Park on Lafayette St., Left at North 3rd St., Uturn at Spanish Town Rd. and head back down North 3rd St., Right at Lafayette St. End race back at park.

Directions for 5K Run/Walk

Registration in Lafayette Park. Move to North 3rd for beginning of race. Start: North 3rd, Right on Spanish Town Rd., Left on North 5th, Right on State Capital Dr., Left on Capital Access Rd (Aresenal Circle), Right to Capital Lake, to North 3rd U-turn at River Road, come back down North 3rd St to Finish at Happyland (behind Happy's Irish Pub).

Additional Information

Registration for both the 1M and 5K events will begin at 6pm CST, in Lafayette Park on Lafayette St- downtown Baton Rouge. We are expecting a large crowd, so make sure to arrive in time to register and/or sign in. All times are in Central Time Schedule: 6:00pm-registration for both 1m & 5k 6:45- 1M walk/run begins 7:45- 5K walk/run begins Adult after party to be held behind Happy's Irish Pub on Third St. following the race. T-shirts will be given out at packet pick-up. Packet Pick Up will be held at Fleet Feet Sports of Baton Rouge on Friday, July 22nd from 1pm-6pm and Saturday, July 23rd from 10am-12pm.
