Additional Information
The course is mostly gentle terrain (paved & dirt-gravel roads) through the scenic Soque and Goshen Valleys and along the headwaters of the Soque River.
All runners and walkers will receive a colorful, quality long-sleeve T-shirt & race pack and be treated to refreshments.
After the race plan to stay for the Batesville Days Festival (10 a.m. - 4 p.m.)....
6K Awards in 15 age groups (male & female) three deep - original pottery by Mark of the Potter!
1 Mile awards to top 3 male and female finishers.
Directions:
From Gainesville, take I-985 north (becomes GA 365) to Clarkesville/Demorest/Helen exit (Historic Hwy. 441), at end of ramp, turn left and travel ¼ mile, take left on Hwy. 105 north until dead end into Hwy. 17, take left on Hwy. 17 to Hwy. 255 Alternate (Hollifield’s store), take right on Hwy. 255 Alt. to dead end into Hwy. 255, take right on Hwy. 255 to dead end into Hwy. 197 at Batesville Store, then veer left onto Old Chimney Mountain Road (gravel), travel .7 mile to race start area on right.
