About the CollegeBound Foundation
Established as a non-profit in 1988, the CollegeBound Foundation's mission is to encourage and enable Baltimore City public school youth to attend and graduate from college.
In addition to Last Dollar Grants and scholarships, our college access program places College Access Program Specialists (CAPS) in Baltimore City public high schools. Specialists encourage students to take the SAT, assist with college selection, help fill out financial aid forms, provide fee waivers for college access tests and applications, give advice on the entire college admissions process and chaperone and fund campus visits. CollegeBound Foundation also operates a college advising retention program on fifteen Maryland public and private college campuses.
A community-serving organization, CollegeBound targets the city's most disadvantaged youth. Most of the students CollegeBound advises are the first generation in their families to aspire to earn a college degree. Many of these students would have never considered college a possibility had they not met the CollegeBound College Access Program Specialist at their high school. Without our Last Dollar Grant funding, the students we serve would not be able to afford college.
