Brief Description

The Greater L-A Triple Crown 5K Series is a community fundraising 5K run/walk series. There are three different 5K races; beginning in June and ending in August. Do one race or do all three and accept the challenge of the Triple Crown!

Bridge Run Registration

Online registration will close August 26th at 10PM. Race Day registration is available 7:15 - 8:30 AM

Times

All 5K's start at 9:00 AM sharp! All Kids Fun Runs begin at 8:15 AM. Please arrive at least 1 hour prior to start time.

Race Day Registration

Pre- registration is highly recommended! All 5K's will be capped at 800 registrants. Race day registration for all 5K's is from 7:15 to 8:30 AM at starting location.

Chip Timing

All 5K's will be chip timed

Kids Fun Run

All Kids Fun Runs are short (400-800 meters) non-competitive runs and are free for all children. No pre-registration is required; please register children on race day.

Apparel

Free commemorative apparel to the first 300 registrants for the YMCA Fit Fest, Emily's Run and the LA Bridge Run.

Refreshments

Water, pizza, bagels & fruit

Prizes

Gift certificates and prizes drawn following each 5K run/walk.

Massage

Free massage available before and after the 5K run/walk.

Music

Great music and race announcing by Eric Cobb

Awards

The top 3 winners in each age category will receive awards following each race.

Triple Crown Awards

To be eligible for Triple Crown Awards you must run or walk in all three races. The overall Triple Crown winner, male and female will receive the following cash awards: 1st - $200, 2nd - $100, and 3rd - $50. The top male and female in each category will receive a commemerative award and all participants that completed the series will receive a special award.

Start and Finish: Festival Plaza, Auburn
Course Description: The road race begins at the corner of Court and Main streets. The course is flat and fast! Participants will run in both Auburn and Lewiston, over two bridges and along the Riverwalk.
Beneficiary: As an Activate America YMCA, the Auburn-Lewiston YMCA is committed to supporting kids, teens, adults, and families of Androscoggin County in their journey to create and sustain a healthy lifestyle. We are committed to being an integral part of our community’s efforts to make long-lasting changes that support healthy living. The scholarship money raised will help children attend Camp Connor, the YMCA summer camp program, as well as participation in other programs.

Emily's Run - July 25th
Start and Finish: Edward Little High School Track, Auburn
Course Description: The course begins at Edward Little HS and winds through suburban roads before returning to the High School. The course is moderately hilly and fun!
Beneficiary: Emily Fletcher grew up in Auburn and attended ELHS. She was a standout runner in Cross-Country and Track. In Dec, 2004 at the age of 21, Emily’s life was tragically taken in a car accident. In her memory and spirit, the Emily Fletcher Memorial 5k was established to both celebrate her life and raise money for two college scholarships in her name and a donation to the Auburn Public Library.

LA Bridge Run - August 29
Start and Finish: Rollodrome, 12 Riverside Dr, Auburn
Course Description: Moderately flat run over many bridges including a railroad pedestrian bridge. The race will be along the Androscoggin River and will be run in both Lewiston and Auburn.
Beneficiary: The proceeds from this year's Bridge Run will go to the Lewiston/Auburn Chapter of the Maine Outdoor Adventure Club and they will present scholarships to local teenagers for a variety of outdoor adventures . Race Director: Mike Lecompte 777-3724
