Brief Description

Come help celebrate Fred Birchmore's 100th birthday at Sandy Creek Nature Center by running in the 4th Annual Fred Birchmore Run for Fun 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run. The race is hosted by the Athens Kiwanis Club with proceeds from the race going to various local charities supported by the Athens Kiwanis Club. Packet pickup and race day registration begins at 2 PM.

Additional Information

Awards will be presented to Overall M/F, Masters M/F, and top three M/F in age groups beginning 10 and under through 75 and over. Finish line management and results provided by Classic Race Services with complete results posted online at www.classicraceservices.com, www.active.com, www.runningintheusa.com, and www.coolrunning.com. This event is part of the 2011 Run and See Georgia Grand Prix Series. The entire course will be run on the paved sections of the North Oconee Greenway, beginning at Sandy Creek Nature Center. The race's namesake, Fred Birchmore, is a very colorful 100 years young man who has been in the Athens Kiwanis Club for 80 years.
