On Saturday October 22, 2011 there will be a Health and Fitness Expo from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM located at the Holiday Inn Express on Broad Street in Athens. On Sunday, October 23, 2011 there will be a Half Marathon at 7:00 AM showcasing the city of Athens. The starting point of the race is in downtown Athens. The race will wind through beautiful historic neighborhoods, past Sanford Stadium and along the Oconee River Greenway, culminating with a dramatic downhill finish on Clayton Street. This race benefits Athfest, a non profit organization dedicated to music and arts education in Athens, Georgia.
