Brief Description

The 2011 Chick-fil-A 5K race is July 2, 2011 benefiting the Jessica Elkins Meningitis Awareness Foundation.The Athens Limestone Hospital Wellness Center is the premier sponsor of this year's race. The race will start at 8:00am on Washington St. next to the wellness center. The Jessica Elkins Meningitis Foundation was founded in memory of 15-year-old Jessica who died December 26, 2007 after a five-day battle with meningitis.

Additional Information

The race will begin at 8 a.m. with race day registration from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. The overall winner of the race will be awarded Chick-fil-a for one year. Awards will also be given in the following age categories: 10-15; 16- 20; 21- 30; 31-40; 41-50; 51-60; 61-69 and masters over 70. All pre-registered participants will be given a race t-shirt.
