Brief Description

The 5K begins promptly at 8:15 am. The Smile Mile begins promptly at 9:15 am. Rain or Shine The Smile Mile is limited to children 14 and is a loop in the streets around Memorial Park. The 5K course is a USATF certified (NC04019-PH) loop around downtown Asheboro. The start and finish are at Memorial Park. A water station will be located at 1.5 miles. Split times will be given at the 1 and 2 mile points.

Race packets will NOT be mailed. Race Day registration and packet pickup begins at 6:45 am on Saturday at Memorial Part under the picnic shelter on the corner of Church and Armfield Streets in downtown Asheboro. Refreshments

A wide variety of fresh fruit, snacks and drinks will be available at the picnic shelter following the race. Restroom facilities will be available.

CUOC

For 2012 the Randolph Road Runners are once again supporting the Christians United Outreach Center (CUOC), Randolph County's faith based crisis intervention. Three dollars of each 5K entry will be donated to CUOC. As additional support, The Randolph Road Runners are encouraging each participant to bring non-perishable dry and canned food items to support the CUOC Food Bank

Senior Games

For the male or female runners who are age 55 or over and residents of Randolph County, the 5K run is the Randolph County Senior Games final for this run event. For more information contact the Asheboro Parks & Recreation Department for details.

Awards

The awards ceremony will begin promptly at 10:00 am at the finish line. Plaques will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers and to the top masters (over 40) male and female finishers in the 5K. Custom medals will be awarded to the top three runners in each age division. No double winners. Results subject to late verification. Decisions of the race officials are final. All finishers of the Smile Mile will be given a ribbon and t-shirt. LOTS OF DOOR PRIZES.

Male & Female - 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & over.
