The 33rd Gold Coast Airport Marathon and Asics Half Marathon – Australia's—and Oceania's—very Best

The countdown to the 33rd Annual Gold Coast Marathon in Queensland, Australia has begun!  The Gold Coast is one of the most desirable holiday destinations in the world at any time, and add to that a two-day celebration of fun and fitness with something for every friend and family member—and an ideal time to run along the Pacific.   Thousands will embrace this magical event.  There is no need for anyone to sit around waiting, because there is an event and a distance for all.

This is one of the most scenic marathons in the world, with much of it along beachside locations and also beautiful views of the expansive Southport Broadwater.  The course is flat and ideal for that Personal Best, as there is normally minimal wind and the temperature is nearly always around 68 to 72F.  This is your perfect opportunity to record your marathon on a new continent—Australia.

Many elite athletes from around the world will take part—marathon, half marathon, and 10K stars—right on down to beginners and walkers in the 5K, or 4K and 2K Junior Dash.  Gold Coast Airport Marathon and Queensland Events Gold Coast will welcome you to the beautiful and inspiring landscape/seascape.  It will be made all the more vibrant and exciting for runners with thousands along the route to cheer with an atmosphere they call "Runspiration".  There will be live music and other entertainment along the course as well as at the finish.  It has earned the reputation as one of the favorite events in Australia and largest marathon in the country.   This unique event will blast off on the weekend of 2 and 3 July on a beautiful IAAF-certified waterfront course along Australia's famed Gold Coast.

The Gold Coast Airport Marathon is officially accredited by Athletics Australia and the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).  These races are certified, and Gold Coast Airport Marathon is a member of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), and the Oceania Athletics Association.  Their sister race is the Senshu International Marathon in Japan.

The Gold Coast Marathon is renowned for providing runners with a quality, exceptionally well organized race experience with thrills beyond compare in road racing.  And now, for the second year in a row, these events take place over two days—the first such road racing event in Australia to do so.  Last year's races drew over 23,800 athletes in total from many countries (over 5,000 in the marathon)! This year's race is shaping up to be better than ever and expected to exceed 25,000 total participants, and they don't yet envision a cap because the wide open course and large venues can handle those numbers.  They are preparing well for you and for the increased capacity.  Logistics are challenging as you might imagine, but they do a fantastic job thanks to remarkable race planning.
