The 4th Annual Little Moe 5K Walk/Run
May 8, 2016; Fayetteville, N.Y. 6 of 8
This race is run in memory of a pony named Modig—or Little Moe—who was rescued by the SPCA in 2013. Little Moe was too weak to walk due to near-starvation, and despite constant care and attention at his rescue home, passed away a week after being rescued.
Little Moe's adopted home, Skanda Equine, created this race to both honor the pony and bring awareness to horse rescue. The organization uses this race to celebrate love and those who deserve our love, with mothers being high up on that list!
15K & 8K Pacific Grove Double Road Race
May 8, 2016; Pacific Grove, Calif. 7 of 8
Is mom looking for a real challenge this Mother's Day? Say hello to Double Running.
This event offers two distance options, a 15K or 8K (plus a Kids' Cup Double), broken into two races with a "halftime" in between to help you recover and get ready for the next race. 15K participants will run a 10K first and a 5K later, and 8K runners will break their distance into a 5K and 3K.
With no longer than an hour and a half before the second race's gun goes off, this race is likely to be the hardest part of mom's day...if she's into that kind of thing.
