Torrey's Redrock Races
Torrey, Utah

Run or walk 5K or 10K (you can even tackle these distances as a four, five or six-member family team) while surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of Thousand Lake Mountain, the Velvet Ridges and the sparkling Fremont River. Stick around after the event for a light breakfast, and the chance to explore Capital Reef National Park.

Foam Run Indianapolis
New Palestine, Indiana

Harken back to your youthful days of careening on the slip 'n' slide in your best friend's backyard, and you can see why the Foam Run series is becoming so popular. Instead of a long, waterslicked yellow runway, race participants must contend with soapy foam, which makes traversing through the course and its obstacles all the more side-splittingly funny.

Dirt Runner
Marseilles, Illinois

This self-proclaimed "toughest 5K there is" combines 3.5 miles of trail running—with about 1,200 feet in elevation change—with challenging obstacles like the pegboard climb, a Warped Wall and a Samson ladder. Post-race beer and food is available, and race organizers encourage participants to bring their own grills and linger in the area afterwards.
