Cats have nine lives, but you only have three. Each life is represented by one of the flags that hang from your belt as you attempt to navigate the 5K course without being devoured by a zombie. Reach the finish line with at least one flag remaining and you've survived. Those more interested in doing the hunting can register as a member of the Zombie Horde and polish their human-hunting skills with terrifying makeup and a visit to the Blood Splatter Zone.

Kick off the Halloween weekend in appropriate fashion by fleeing zombies en route to a Saturday afternoon party. Survivors will get a 3 to 5-minute head start on their living dead pursuers with two lifelines attached to their belts. The goal will be to reach the awaiting after-party with both flags, while zombies will attempt to grab as many as possible on their way. Once the race ends, the fun continues, as zombies and survivors will put aside their differences and party at Zombie Fest—featuring Kraken Rum, Curveo Cinge tequila and local brews.

Run alongside—or from—the undead who will descend upon Yahoola Creek Park to greet Halloween weekend in the most appropriate fashion. As is the norm, flags will be provided for runners who hope not to become a zombie. But, don't worry; even if you lose all of your flags, there's still life at the finish line—and a medal.
